Review of: Tipsy Club Moscow
Type of venue: Basic nightclub
No dress code.
Cheapest club I know.
Rammed with drunk teenagers.
That needs improvement
Summary: Tipsy overdelivers on its name because if you manage to leave it tipsy, you might be the only one. Perfect for people under 21 with no budget. Everyone else, visit at your own risk (hell, you might actually like it).
Where is the Tipsy Club Moscow?
What kind of music do they play in the Tipsy Club Moscow?
In the Tipsy Club you'll get a lot of what Russian youngsters want to hear, meaning Russian pop and hip hop and the occasional international hit.
What kind of people go to the Tipsy Club Moscow and how is the vibe?
The Tipsy Club Moscow sure is one of its kind in Moscow. On the one hand, it's the most basic and un-Moscow place you can possibly find in the center of Moscow. On the other, this is probably exactly why it is fascinating to visit (at least once).
Immediately upon entry, you have the feeling that you came to the local high school graduation ball instead of to a proper Moscow nightclub. There's no real interior design but basically just one big hall with a stage and a bar. Could just as well be your school's gym.
The crowd is almost entirely made up of teenagers and young people. At 28, I was easily the oldest person in there. I was also easily the best-dressed because this is a basic, basic club. Pay at the front and you're good to go, no dress code whatsoever.
The club's main selling point is the cheap bar, and I mean cheap. Check out the price rating but you can't drink cheaper than here. As a consequence, pretty much everyone is hammered beyond belief later in the night.
If you were to assume that teenagers and a lot of booze are the perfect recipe for a high-energy party, you would be absolutely right. There's no attitudes an no showing off here. These youngsters just party until they drop (literally), for better or worse. I can honestly say that I've been to clubs that had a less pleasant atmosphere.
When should I go to the Tipsy Club Moscow?
I honestly can't tell you but I am pretty sure it's packed as hell around the usual peak times from 1am on.
