Review of: Rose Bar Moscow

Type of venue: Restaurant/bar/club

No face control but fancy people.

Not cheap for a medium-popular restaurant.

Solid energy for preparties.

That's good

  • No face control
  • Actual space on the dancefloor
  • Located close to other spots.

That needs improvement

  • Can be good one night and dead another
  • Pretty expensive for a preparty place

Summary: The Rose Bar is a solid option if you want to preparty in the Kuznetsky Most area and like Russian music. You will be pleasantly surprised by the lack of face control despite the chic people. It's a bit hit-and-miss though and doesn't always justify its prices.

Where is the Rose Bar Moscow?

What kind of music do they play in the Rose Bar Moscow?

A lot of Russian pop mixed with the occasional regular older or newer chart hit. When the party dies down after 4am, they switch to chill house music to chase the remaining people out.

What kind of people go to the Rose Bar Moscow and how is the vibe?

You will find the Rose Bar Moscow on the third floor in one of the buildings in the Kuznetsky Most area, which is a very popular neighborhood for many bars & cafes, as well as boutiques. ‚ÄčThe first surprise is that the spot has no real face control as such: just walk past security, leave your coat at the cloakroom and take the elevator up.

The club itself is another restaurant-turned-club, which are ubiquitous in Moscow. You'll find plenty of tables arranged in an oval form around the bar. In contrast to other establishments with a similar arrangement, there is space to comfortably order at the bar, as well as a little dancefloor.

The atmosphere is decent enough and thanks to the DJ throwing on local Russian pop music, the dancefloor does fill up quite nicely. The crowd is generally mid to end 20s and dressed on the elegant side. In general, you do get the feeling that you're at an "accessible version" of a high-end club. The crowd as well as the interior feels elegant and slightly posh but never quite as posh or snobbish as at other places.

When should I go to the Rose Bar Moscow?

If you come for clubbing, come early. This is more of a preparty place and is best to visit by 12am-1am.

What's the dress code in this club?

Elegance level: elegant

Surprisingly no real face control to speak of but in the club most people are dressed on the elegant side.

What are the prices like in this club?

Price level: above average

For a spot that is not all that popular, the Rose Bar Moscow is not cheap: cocktails are around 700-800 Rubles. Minimum spend at tables starts from 15,000 Rubles.

How is the energy in this club?

Energy level: decent

It's not a club that will pop off like crazy but you do get a few people that are enjoying themselves on the dancefloor insead of observing it from the surrounding tables.

So do you have any insider tips or recommendations for the Rose Bar Moscow?

  • Like other venues with a similar concept, you should visit rather early in the night and see if the club on this particular evening is poppin' or not.

Why you should come to the Rose Bar Moscow

Overall, the Rose Bar Moscow is a decent option if you want to preparty to some local music and feel out whether a high-end spot will fit your taste.
