Review of: Rose Bar Moscow
Type of venue: Restaurant/bar/club
No face control but fancy people.
Not cheap for a medium-popular restaurant.
Solid energy for preparties.
That needs improvement
Summary: The Rose Bar is a solid option if you want to preparty in the Kuznetsky Most area and like Russian music. You will be pleasantly surprised by the lack of face control despite the chic people. It's a bit hit-and-miss though and doesn't always justify its prices.
Where is the Rose Bar Moscow?
What kind of music do they play in the Rose Bar Moscow?
A lot of Russian pop mixed with the occasional regular older or newer chart hit. When the party dies down after 4am, they switch to chill house music to chase the remaining people out.
What kind of people go to the Rose Bar Moscow and how is the vibe?
You will find the Rose Bar Moscow on the third floor in one of the buildings in the Kuznetsky Most area, which is a very popular neighborhood for many bars & cafes, as well as boutiques. The first surprise is that the spot has no real face control as such: just walk past security, leave your coat at the cloakroom and take the elevator up.
The club itself is another restaurant-turned-club, which are ubiquitous in Moscow. You'll find plenty of tables arranged in an oval form around the bar. In contrast to other establishments with a similar arrangement, there is space to comfortably order at the bar, as well as a little dancefloor.
The atmosphere is decent enough and thanks to the DJ throwing on local Russian pop music, the dancefloor does fill up quite nicely. The crowd is generally mid to end 20s and dressed on the elegant side. In general, you do get the feeling that you're at an "accessible version" of a high-end club. The crowd as well as the interior feels elegant and slightly posh but never quite as posh or snobbish as at other places.
When should I go to the Rose Bar Moscow?
If you come for clubbing, come early. This is more of a preparty place and is best to visit by 12am-1am.
