Summary: Oblaka is one of the best when it comes to clubbing with Moscow's rich&beautiful. It's a must-visit on Thursdays but beware the tough door policy and dress as sharp as you can.
Where is Oblaka Moscow?
What kind of music do they play in Oblaka?
Oblaka plays a mix of Russian and international pop music. Occasionally, like in many other clubs, you have Russian pop singers performing. As so often in these types of clubs the music and DJ'ing is not the best but the guests don't seem to mind.
What kind of people go to Oblaka and how is the vibe?
Oblaka Moscow is a classic upscale Moscow nightclub/restaurant hybrid. It is one of the most popular clubs of the high-end type and a favorite of "look at me" types of both sexes. You'll see the Moscow-typical 15 year age gap between men and women in this club fairly often. The women and the gogo dancers are however right up there and very few venues can compete in that regard.
Finding it can be quite tricky, if you are going for the first time. It's located inside the "Vremena Goda" shopping mall on the fourth floor. If you don't know the way, follow the fancily dressed people to the elevators and go up to the top floor.
The club is really more of a restaurant but unlike Siberia for example it does have a seperated genuine bar area. That's the perfect spot to hang out for all those who do not have a table reservation. The main area is packed with tables, which makes dancing and even passing through in between almost impossible. Its best part though is the obligatory terrace. In the summer months you get beautiful views of Moscow in the morning hours. It is fairly spacious though and I've only rarely seen it fill up.
Nonetheless the vibe at Oblaka is decent for those who enjoy Russian music and the uptight atmosphere of a high-end Moscow nightclub. People do get surprisingly drunk in here, so don't be surprised to see a fair few amount of guests pretty hammered by the end of the night.
When should I go to Oblaka?
The key info is that Oblaka is the Thursday place to go in Moscow. High-end or not, this is your best option on Thursdays. You should come fairly early, somewhere around 1230 am. The door is tight here, so better to be safe than sorry. The spot fills up properly by 130am and most people only start leaving after 4am. Of course you also have the option to visit on Fridays and Saturdays.
