Review of: Miks Club Moscow

Type of venue: Commercial afterparty club

Elegance

Not too elegant but not too relaxed either.

Prices

Stadanrd prices plus a small cover.

Energy

As heated as it gets at afterparties.

That's good

  • Very popular with lots of visitors
  • Very spacious and well set up
  • Party until well past 10am

That needs improvement

  • Most people are already damaged by the night
  • No daylight inside
  • Music a bit monotonous

Summary: Miks is one of the most popular clubs for people that want to keep the party going past 5am. If you can't stand dark places with electronic music and people on substances then you should probably stay away.

Where is the Miks club Moscow?

What kind of music do they play in Miks?

Mostly tech house and techno. Only electronic music in Miks.

What kind of people go to Miks and how is the vibe?

When the party crowd is done with the “regular” clubs but wants to party some more, Miks is their club of choice. It opens at 2am but since it is an afterhours spot it doesn’t really get going before 4am.

After the closure of Krysha Mira next door, Miks mopped up a lot of that club’s business. It is now the most “mainstream” afterhours club. Some of the “in” crowd (or at least those who think they are) congregate in Miks. Don’t be surprised to see faces that you saw earlier in the night at another spot.

Because it is popular and in a good location, Miks packs a good crowd most of the times. It's a mainstream club with a mainstream crowd that gives itself a touch of underground to appear a bit edgier.

Its typical afterhours vibe is an unusual combination of both worlds: hammering basses, no daylight inside and most people are probably on some kind of a substance (or have at least a gas balloon). That gives it a slightly seedy touch. At the same time it is professionally managed and attracts the typical Moscow “look at me” crowd instead of genuine underground people.

Its setup helps, since it is a spacious venue that even provides an area to relax and kick back with a drink or a shisha. In contrast to a regular underground afterhours club it also has lots of tables. With that in mind the door should not be a big problem. Be chill and friendly and 4 out of 5 times you’ll get in without a hassle.

When should I go to Miks?

If you want to make a 100% sure to get in or you genuinely enjoy the tunes then by all means come at 2am. Otherwise don’t bother before 4am-5am because it starts quite slow. It’s an afterhours club so people tend to come here even as late as 10am.

What's the dress code in this club?

Elegance level: above average

Mixed but if you’re new and don’t know people better to err on the side of being dressed up instead of dressed down. It’s still a mainstream club so they care about how you dress.

What are the prices like in this club?

Price level: above average

Entrance is 500 Rubles or you can get a 3000 Ruble deposit to spend inside (recommended if you stay longer). Drinks are standard prices, Long Island 750 Rubles, beer 350 Rubles. Tables start at 15.000 Rubles.

How is the energy in this club?

Energy level: decent

It is a classic afterhours spot. You'll probably only go there if you're way past your limit and make your own party.

So do you have any insider tips or recommendations for Miks?

  • Bring sunglasses in summer even if you don’t plan on getting high. When you exit the club sunlight will hit you in the head because it is so dark inside.

Why you should come to Miks club Moscow

If you still haven’t had enough after the normal clubs come to the Miks club Moscow. It’s the most visited afterhours venue for the mainstream crowd at the moment.
