Mendeleev Bar Moscow reviewed by Moscownightguide
Read the Moscownightguide review of Mendeleev Bar Moscow. I cover all you need to know from a Moscow bar.
Where is the Mendeleev Bar Moscow?
What kind of music do they play in Mendeleev Bar?
Thursdays are Jazz nights, otherwise deep house or other kind of laid-back electronic music.
What kind of people go to Mendeleev Bar and how is the vibe?
Mendeleev Bar is one of Moscow's not-so-secret hidden bars. The entrance is tucked away in a Chinese fast food joint, from where you walk down the stairs into the actual bar. The masonry walls and the dim lighting make for a very cozy and unique atmosphere, which makes the bar feel very compact. The interior is also, very un-Moscow like, styled rather simple and cozy with inviting sofas and armchairs instead of over-the-top decor like in most other spots.
It is probably one of Moscow's best and most popular speakeasys. Although it is well-known and popular, Mendeleev Bar rarely feels overrun by people. It has a very particular, comfortable yet mystic vibe that you won't find in almost any other Moscow bar.
The crowd is usually in their late 20s or older. Mostly well-situated people, or what passes as such judged on their appearance. However, be aware that Mendeleev Bar is not one of your classic "see and be seen" places to come and show off. Think more "cozy cigar place" than "Instagram hotspot".
When should I go to Mendeleev Bar?
Come in the early evening to relax with a cocktail and enjoy the atmosphere. If you come later, Mendeleev Bar gets more busy and becomes a great place to meet people and socialize. It is definitely more of a preparty place though.
