Review of: Gazgolder Club Moscow

Type of venue: Afterparty club

Trendy but not posh.

Rather expensive + cover.

Afterparty with lots of people.

That's good

  • Great music
  • Very stylish interior
  • Loads of people but a peaceful vibe

That needs improvement

  • Most expensive afterparty option
  • Your next day is gone by the time you leave

Summary: Gazgolder is the most stylish club if you just don't want to go home. Nowadays open to everyone but bring enough cash and forget about sleeping.

Where is the Gazgolder club Moscow?

What kind of music do they play in Gazgolder?

In Gazgolder you’ll hear deep house, minimal and similar tunes, depending on the DJ they brought in. Sometimes international DJs perform at Gazgolder, so if you want a place that plays good electro, bookmark this one.

What kind of people go to Gazgolder and how is the vibe?

The crowd at the Gazgolder club Moscow is pretty mixed. People are less of the fashion and posh sort but more underground and hipper. Some people would probably characterize them as "yuppies".

The club’s price policy weeds out the folk with less money. Unusual by Moscow standards, Gazgolder makes you pay 1000-1500 Rubles admission depending on the time you come. That leaves the “better-off underground people” so to speak, most of whom are between 20 and 30.

The club is set up in an old brick building and very spacious. Its stylish interior with candle lighting, old-school fauteuils and tinted windows makes you inevitably think of Berlin's nightlife scene. With one major difference though: Berlin clubs try to look as fucked up as possible, whereas Gazgolder has pretty much the opposite approach.

The venue is spread out across two areas, with the second one being much brighter with more of a bar vibe. On the little dancefloor you can enjoy slightly softer tunes than in the bigger main area. There's also a slightly desolated-looking courtyard. I'm not sure whether by design or by accident.

The Gazgolder club Moscow has a pretty chill and unpretentious vibe. It’s also “that kind of place”, so don’t be surprised if you get asked whether you have some mood enhancers with you. Unlike in European clubs you won’t see anyone consuming openly though, not even weed.

When should I go to Gazgolder?

Opening hours are from 12pm to 12am. It is an afterhours place though, so most people will be dropping in from 3am-4am onwards. It is proably the busiest out of all Moscow afterhours spots.

What's the dress code in this club?

Elegance level: relaxed

Less pretentious with no strict dress code and you can come (almost) as you want. If you fail at the door it is probably not due to being too much dressed up or down but because you don’t look comfortable in your skin.

What are the prices like in this club?

Price level: high

1000-1500 Rubles cover fee at the door. Drinks are slightly cheaper than average inside, Long Island 600 Rubles, beers 300 Rubles. Bottle service starts at 70,000 Rubles.

How is the energy in this club?

Energy level: mixed

It's morean underground kind of place so there is no wild partying here. In the bigger area the energy is pretty electrifying (depending on the DJ). The smaller area is good for a chat, a smoke or a drink at the bar.

So do you have any insider tips or recommendations for Gazgolder?

  • Not exactly an insider recommendation but the sunrise is great to watch through the tinted windows in the main area.
  • If you want to "lift your spirits", your best bet is the toilet area (no guarantees).

Why you should come to the Gazgolder club Moscow

Because it is the go-to afterhours place in Moscow at the moment. If you enjoy electro and like an "upscale undergound" spot, come here.

I came to Russia in 2014 to study. I thought I would leave after one year to pursue a boring office job. But this country offers the adventures and opportunities that you don’t find anymore in the West. I decided to stay in the Wild East.

If you’re sociable, communicative and speak their language, Russians love you. I was decent at the former two and I learned the latter. These days my Russian is fluent and I keep improving my communication skills every day.

I strongly believe that confidence and persistence are the keys to success when dealing with Russia and its people. My mission is to help you to establish a connection with this amazing country, be it through dating, life or language.
