Review of: Casa Agave Moscow
Type of venue: Latin-themed restaurant/bar
Relaxed rather than elegant.
Affordable drinks and food.
Even more stars if you like Latin dancing.
That needs improvement
Summary: If you are into the Latino style and like Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and whatever else is out there, this place is a must for you. It's the most popular Mexican/Latin American bar in Moscow. Don't visit if you expect a clubbier atmosphere or want to dance to mainstream music, that is the exception here.
Where is Casa Agave Moscow?
What kind of music do they play in Casa Agave?
Casa Agave serves the pretty rare Latino niche in Moscow. Hence the music is mostly Latin: salsa, bachata, reggeaton and other Spanish-speaking music. Commercial club music is the exception in this spot.
What kind of people go to Casa Agave and how is the vibe?
Casa Agave is first and foremost a Mexican restaurant. Like many other restaurants in Moscow, it also turns into a bar/nightclub on Fridays and Saturdays.
Compared to similar venues though, Casa Agave differs in two main ways. First, its obvious focus on the Latino niche. If you don't like Latin music and Latin-styled parties, this place will not be for you. Most people that visit are either Latinos themselves or attracted to this type of music and vibe. Going to Casa Agave means dancing Salsa, Bachata or Merengue instead of slamming down shots at the bar and pumping basses. They do a really good job of creating the right type of vibe, so if you're into this you will definitely like the venue.
Second, it is a restaurant first and second and only third a place to party. You can party without a problem until the early morning hours. But if you come to Casa Agave, you most likely will come earlier than to most other nightlife venues and stay for the food and the atmosphere as much as for the nightlife. At other places it feels pretty unnatural to order food and sip on a glass of wine with house music or Russian pop pumping in the background. Here, the transition between eating, dancing and socializing is much more fluent and natural. Hence people come often in groups, which does not mean you cannot come alone, because it is very much an open and friendly place.
When should I go to Casa Agave?
Fridays and Saturdays are good for partying. You can come pretty much any time but the peak is like in most other places somewhere between 12am and 2am.
